Grandma is here for a visit and reports that the growth spurt that started a few days ago (well, we didn't know it at the time, but think is started Thursday now that we look back on it) is still going strong. He's been eating more than not since he woke up today!

I think you mean an EATING spurt. Hopefully the eating frenzy will result in a growth spurt. (Taller, not wider)
Both of you kids were great at eating everything and anything. Unfortunately, there was never a significant growth spurt. Our family eats a lot, but gets shorter with every generation!
